Bug Out With This New Limited Edition of 100On being asked what one could learn about God from a study of his creation the Victorian biologist Haldane answered, “that he has an inordinate fondness for beetles” There are 350,000 identified species of beetle, accounting for 30% of all animal life. An inordinate fondness for beetles is a celebration of this most abundant of insects. The design was created with English illustrator Lucy Eves, there is a scurrying mass of beetles arranged across the case, the glass, the dial and the disc hand. Lucy explains the thinking behind the watch, “the design is inspired by those wonderfully intricate and diverse displays of pinned Victorian entomological collections which have found their way into my illustration work before; yet the beetles contained here are on the move, swarming and scuttling in every direction, creating a mobile bug-box to exhibit on your arm. Time flies? Maybe it just beetles..." The time display unconventional: the hour is read from the position of the colored beetle in the crescent. The crescent shows 12 hours running from 6 on the left to 6 on the right. The green beetle indicates the hours from 6am to 6pm. At 6pm the green beetle disappears on the right and the red beetle appears on the left. The red beetle shows the hours from 6pm through to 6am. The display is based on the Sun and Moon watches that were first produced in Britain in the late 1600s during a period of experimentation with the watch face and how to represent the time, before the concentric hour and minute hands became established as the universal standard which we still use. |

The Evergraph. A Classic yet Modern Automatic by Xeric Watches
The Xeric Evergraph Automatic - Inspired by the past, designed for the future.
Nothing withstands the test of time better than great design. Ideas come and go, and trends fade, but something well-crafted will leave its mark forever.
We've launched three successful Kickstarter campaigns prior to the Evergraph. Back in 2013 with the Xeriscope, 2015 with the Halograph, and 2016 with the Soloscope. Our Kickstarter backers are playing an important role in shaping the future of the watch industry and design.

The spirit of the Evergraph comes from the city of San Francisco. This iconic city seamlessly contrasts the world of yesteryear with a modern core of technology and design. We wanted to imagine what a Xeric watch might have looked like if we designed it a hundred years ago but also maintain an aesthetic that will look just as timeless a hundred years into the future.

To bring the Evergraph Automatic to reality, we need to know that we're on the right track with support from like-minded people like you who take pride in standing out from the crowd.
Those who have supported our past three Kickstarter campaigns often tell us they're tired of flamboyant watches that merely express status as well as boring watches that say nothing at all.
We are finding new ways to offer affordable, limited edition mechanical watches to fill that void. The Evergraph Automatic is our most classic-yet-modern design to date.

The Evergraph features the workhorse Japanese Miyota 82S0 automatic movement, American Horween leather (or solid stainless steel straps), a sapphire-coated K1 crystal, and Xeric's signature time display. Production will be limited to only 999 pieces per color.

For those of you who love to know the details.

Although reading the time appears complex, the Evergraph is actually quite simple to read. The inner rings show the hours, and the outer rings show the minutes.

All Xeric watches begin with a number 2 pencil, piles of white paper, and a passion for rethinking traditional watch design. We’ve spent years and years obsessing about cool antique gadgets we collect, vintage concept cars, and telling time in unique yet stylish ways. It's an exercise of sorts for us—to take something apart and put it back together again. But our secret lies in mixing all those 'parts' up and creating something unexpected.

Xeric has been featured in some of the most well-respected publications in the world. Here's just a sampling Xeric in the press.

You may also know us as Watches.com (formerly Watchismo). Xeric is shaking up the watch world by designing limited edition mechanical timepieces like you've never seen before. After all, we are watch collectors first and foremost, and it's our passion to create unexpected timepieces.

Time to be Different. That's the motto at Watches.com. Founded by brothers Mitch & Andrew Greenblatt who are modern horological enthusiasts with a passion for unique timepieces. They've been scouring the globe since 1999 discovering obscure, unusual brands that you've probably never heard of as well as carefully curating the brands you love. A watch says a lot about you and helps you stand out.
Watchismo has acquired and merged into Watches.com. We have big plans and this is just the beginning. It's been an amazing 19+ years offering the world's largest online collection of diverse & unusual watches at Watchismo and it's about to get even more fun. We believe that the modern watch represents more than just a functional mechanism to tell time. The watch is a unique form of art, design and personal expression. We've had a long-standing mission of providing unique and affordable timepieces to adventurous enthusiasts as yourself.
